This track for Grand Prix Legends (GPL) represents the full 29 km Brno road circuit,
that was used from 1930 to 1937.
Some history and information about the track.
A lot of construction was needed in 1930 because most of the section from Pisarky to Ostrovacice was unpaved and looked like the forest section (see image).
The road from Ostrovacice to the start/finish line followed the main road from Praha to Brno, and since it was relatively wide and straight it needed just a few repairs.
Three types of road surface were in use on the circuit: cobblestones, tarmac and concrete. The surface used was dependent on what was there before, and what was possible to build in the short time available to complete the circuit.
The exact length of the Brno circuit is not known. An initial survey in 1929 gave the length as 29.212 km. Then a second survey in January 1930, for the race organizer CAMS, gave the length as 29.142 km. This length was used as the official length for all timing and race results throughout the life of the circuit. The circuit ran anti-clockwise.
A report estimating the cost of the project used a length of 29.163 km. Engineer A. Zavodnik from Brno stated in 1930 that the finished Masaryk Circuit was 29.194 km long and had 128 turns (60 left and 68 right).
The 1937 race was won by Rudolf Caracciola driving a Mercedes Benz:
